The Golden Spike was driven at Promontory, Utah, in 1869 to celebrate the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States. The Golden Spike features E-Z Track(R) snap-fit track and roadbed system, and E-Z plug-in wiring, so setting up the 65 x 38 oval and 20 siding is a snap! The train is hauled by an EMD GP40 diesel locomotive with operating headlight. Freight cars include an open quad hopper, plug door box car, single dome tank car, stock car and off-center caboose.
