This is Bachmann 51570 N New York Central 2-6-2 Prairie Steam Locomotive & Tender #1905. Features includes skew wound motor with bronze bearings, engine and tender electrical pick-up, traction tires for greater pulling power, die-cast chassis, metal handrails, painted in color black.

Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the “Prairie” model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!
