Here is a Lionel 6-3100 O Gauge Great Northern 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive & Tender #3100. This was one of the top-of-the line locomotives from 1981. The steam locomotive features a die-cast body, smoke deflectors, magne traction, puffing smoke, a operates on O-31 or greater curves. Overall length: 21″, working headlight, transformer controlled forward, neutral and reverse and a pullmor motor. The tender features six-wheel die-cast trucks, the electronic mighty sound of steam, an electronic whistle, a famous American Railroad #3 decal and an operating knuckle coupler. This engine heads up the Famous American Railroads #3 Set.

First introduced in the early 20th century, the 4-8-4 to rail yards by storm primarily hauling coal and other forms of freight across state lines in the US and rail-ways in various other countries. While later models would improve on the 4-8-4’s limitation, this locomotive still made its place in history as a pioneer of 20th century rail-road industry, and is featured in some museums today as a testament to how far the industry has truly come!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are light nicks and scratches on the surface of this item. A few light paint chips and rub marks are also present on both items. Wheels and rolling pickups show light signs of wear from previous use. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
