Built in the early 1950s, the Baldwin Locomotive Works RF-16 Sharknose diesel locomotive is dressed in black lightning stripes for service with the New York Central. New for 2007, the New York Central Sharknose A-A set features the Lionel LEGACY Control System and LEGACY Speed Control. A matching non-powered B-unit is also available. Included is a powered A-unit and a non-powered A-unit. Features include Lionel LEGACY Control System equippedable to run in Command Control Mode or in Conventional Transformer Control Mode, LEGACY Speed Control with ON/OFF switch, RailSounds 5.0 sound system with new intelligible CrewTalk dialog, more TowerCom announcements, and eight diesel RPM levels, directional lighting, including LED headlights, electrocouplers on the front of each A-unit, dual powerful maintenance-free motors with momentum flywheels, traction tires, a fan-driven smoke unit in both the powered and non-powered A-units, die-cast metal trucks, pilots, and fuel tanks, die-cast metal frames, separately applied metal details, separately applied metal handrails and screens, opening doors, accurate builders plates, lighted number boards, illuminated cab interior, engineer and fireman figures.
